Players Visit Lincoln Elementary

The Utah Athletic's Department teams up with the local school, Lincoln Elementary. Our athletes have the chance to get involved with kids, share their experiences, and just give a little something back to the community. A group of girls from our team had the chance to visit 2 different classes at Lincoln a couple of weeks ago and they really enjoyed it. Click here to see Junior Morgan Skeen talk about the experience and check out the photos below!

Utes Take Advantage of Winter in Utah!

Although many of the 'California girls' aren't too excited when Utah winters come along, everyone manages to find ways to have fun in the snow! There are tons of fun winter activities to do close to campus. Check out some of the fun things current and former players have been doing so far!

Christine Quinn snowmobiling over Christmas break!

The view of Bear Lake (just a couple hours north of Salt Lake) from a great cabin...A new found favorite getaway for Former players Kelly Isleib, Danielle Sample and Jen Christoffers! Very relaxing...

Lauren Porter and Lauren Dudley hit the slopes to ski/snowboard at Park City Mountain Resort! Several girls on the team have season passes to Park City as the school offers a great deal for students.

Oh and don't forget...some of the gals spend there breaks Canadian style...Check out Lauren Dudley in Waterton National Park with her sister and Stephanie Lemeza enjoying being home and showing her Canadian pride!

Kelly Isleib Drafted by Sky Blue FC!

"It is definitely an exciting time for me. I have worked hard for a long time and have had a lot of great coaches and teammates and support from my family along the way. It will be hard to be so far from home but I can't wait to start on this new adventure, I feel very lucky."

Senior Kelly Isleib from Park City, Utah was drafted early this afternoon to the Women's Professional Team Sky Blue FC in New Jersey. Isleib was a 6th round draft pick. Kelly was nearly speechless in the moment that she found out that she had been slected as a draft pick; it has been a lifelong dream and goal and it was understandably an overwhelming moment. Isleib has been one of the most successful and influential players in Utah Soccer history and everyone here at the University of Utah Athletic's Department wishes her the best of luck!

Congratulations Kelly!

Back In Action!

After a much-needed long and restful Christmas break, the gang is back in action! Spring consists of many hours of strength training, running, and other fitness-type exercises. As per NCAA rules, the team is only allowed a certain amount of training hours involving the soccer ball. However, there is time allotted for several hours of 'individuals' or small group training. The team hit the field early yesterday morning with a lift and a difficult run...nothing like starting new semester with some shuttle runs! Check out the awesome facilities that the team gets to train in all spring!

In addition to working hard on the field and in the classroom, the Utes have already been hard at work becoming involved in the community. The team sat in on a City Council meetingTuesday night to support the passing of a proposed new soccer complex here in Utah...and the proposal ended up passing! Check out the full article from the local newspaper, the Salt Lake Tribune, here!

Stay tuned for updated information about the Ute's exciting offseason as they begin to prepare for the upcoming season!
